Description

This field records the country of the Student's permanent home address on entry to their Engagement

Notes

This field is collecting the country of the student's permanent home address and is required on entry to a student's Engagement only. This field should collect the country the student lived in for non-educational purposes before starting their Engagement.

Where the student's permanent home address is in the UK, the specific UK codes (XF, XG, XH, XI) must be used. If the permanent home address is known to be in the United Kingdom but the individual country is not known, XK United Kingdom, not otherwise specified may be returned, but this must not be used as a default for UK addresses.

Where the student's permanent home address on entry is in the UK or the Channel Islands (XF, XG, XH, XI, XK, XL, GG, JE or IM), the EntryProfile.PERMADDPOSTCODE must also be returned. 97 must be returned where the country identifier is not known by the provider.

Reason Required

To establish the country of a student's permanent home address on entry to an Engagement, to establish whether distance learners are in the UK.
