Notes | Certain valid entries exist in both this field and Student.STUINITID. In this case the initiative should be returned at the level at which it applies. If the initiative applies to all students on a Course, it should be returned in CourseInitiative. If it varies on a student by student basis, it should be returned in StudentInitiative for each applicable Engagement. For example you could have one course with different mode or length. Some students might be on an eligible pathway and others not thus the requirement to record this information on a student level. 001 Abridged ITT course (England only) 001 'Abridged ITT course', is to be used where a student is taking a course that has been shortened, but that is not classed as the Assessment Only Route. This valid entry should only be used for School Direct Salaried students (Course.TTCID = 01 and Engagement.ENTRYRTE = 03). 004 Higher/Degree Apprenticeship A Higher/Degree Apprenticeship incorporates a work-based learning programme and leads to a nationally recognised qualification at NVQ levels 4, 5, 6 or 7 or equivalent. Code 004 is used to identify students in England, Scotland or Northern Ireland for whom the StudentRegistration comprises any part of the study component of a Higher/Degree Apprenticeship Framework or Standard. All students on the course should have this code returned even if they are not in receipt or personally eligible for the loan. This apples to Courses that are: Masters:

This initiative should only be returned where Qualification.QUALCAT = D0003, E0000, L0000, L0001, M0003, M0004, M0006, M0007, M0015, M0021 or where Course.PREREQUISITE = 02 and CurriculumAccreditation.CURACCID = 00103. This initiative can be returned on CourseInitative.COURSEINITID or StudentInitiative.STUINITID but not both. There will be validation in place to prevent this. 020 HEFCW-funded degree apprenticeship scheme (Wales only) This valid entry should be returned where Courses are part of the HEFCW-funded degree apprenticeship scheme that started in 2018/19. This is being used to monitor uptake of the scheme, characteristics of students on the scheme and funding and delivery. 027 Place supported by the SFC's Upskilling Fund (Scotland only) The SFC introduced the Upskilling Fund for 2019/20 to develop the capacity of universities to offer short, flexible provision to allow people to upskill or reskill. Guidance on the types of courses and students that can be supported through this fund can be found on the SFC's website. 028 Micro-credential course This code can only be used by providers in Wales. Micro-credentials are small volumes of credit which form part of the lifelong learning system. Micro-credentials are most often designed to reflect the needs of employers in key sectors and support the continuous professional development of individuals in employment and those seeking to upskill or retrain. 029 - Lifelong Learning Entitlement (LLE) To monitor the uptake of and participation in the Higher Education Short Course trial competition, whereby the Office for Students are funding innovative projects delivering short courses in higher education. This valid value can only be used by providers in England taking part in the trial. 031 - Artificial Intelligence and Data Science postgraduate conversion courses programme This valid entry should be used for courses that are part of the Artificial Intelligence and Data Science postgraduate conversion courses programme commissioned by the Office for Students. This is being used to monitor and evaluate the uptake of and participation in phase 1 of the OfS Data Science and Artificial Intelligence postgraduate conversion courses programme running from 2020/21 to 2022/23. | ||||||||||||||||||
