| Notes | This data is required at entry to a student's Engagement and is not required to be maintained throughout a student's Engagement. Continuing students do not need to be resurveyed unless their EntryProfile is resubmitted. The data is recorded on the basis of the student’s own self-assessment. Students should be asked this question – about the religion in which they were brought up – prior to being asked about their current religion or belief. The valid entries have been aligned with the census in Northern Ireland. 98 Prefer not to say: this code should be used when the student does not wish to declare this information. 99 Not available: this code should be used when the provider is unable to obtain the data in order to submit it to HESA.
