Activity duration type(ACTDURATIONTYPE)

All OffVenueActivity entities.

Off-venue activities that contain more than 20 days duration of activity are mandatory to return.

Although optional, providers should be encouraged to return off venue activities that are fewer than 20 days in length.

OVA spanning StudentCourseSessions:

If a student's off-venue activity spans the StudentCourseSession, the whole duration should be returned against the StudentCourseSession containing the majority of the duration.

For example:

A student's StudentCourseSession.SCSENDDATE is 15th February. They complete OVA between 1st February and 1st March - a total duration of 28 days. As the student has completed 15 days of duration prior to their StudentCourseSession.SCSENDDATE of 15th February, 13 further days in the next SCS, the entire 28 day duration of the OVA is to be returned against the first SCS.

Off-venue activity shorter than 20 days:

Off-venue activities that are between 5 and 20 days duration but, when combined with other Off-venue activities achieved over the Student Course Session, sum to a total length of 20 days or more must also be returned. All activity should be reported in the reference period whereby the total off-venue activity duration exceeds 20 days.

For example:

A student completes 15 days of off-venue activity within the first reference period. They then complete a second period of off-venue activity with a duration of 10 days in the second reference period. Combined, this student has completed 25 days of off-venue activity and therefore a duration of 25 days would be returned within the second reference period, as indicated as two separate OVAs.

Teacher Training placements:

Teacher training placements in England must be returned irrespective of duration.
