Notes

This entity records details of the provider or a partner's Venue so that this can be associated with StudentCourseSessions via the StudyLocation entity. A Venue entity is required where students on an apprenticeship course are being taught at the provider or partner's venue, however the workplace venue(s) should be excluded.

This therefore allows the recording of the geographical location that a student is at as well as the organisation delivering learning at that location.

Venues outside the UK are not required to be returned.

Providers in England

If a provider runs a course that is primarily based at their main campus, but the students spend a few days at another campus, a new Venue would only be returned where this activity is 20 days or longer in duration or makes up 25% of the StudentCourseSession.

Occasionally it may be appropriate to return campuses with fewer students, provided these are geographically distinct and separately marketed to students.

Providers in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales

If a provider runs a course that is primarily based at their main campus, but the students spend a few days at another campus, a new Venue would only be returned where this activity is 20 days or longer in duration, including where activities that are between 5 and 20 days duration have a combined duration of at least 20 days.

Occasionally it may be appropriate to return campuses with fewer students, provided these are geographically distinct and separately marketed to students.
